A Water
Impounding Dam along Punta-taytay creek 200 east of
Punta-taytay bridge in Barangay Taloc, Bago, Neg. Occ.
Project Description
The proposed dam will traverse the
Punta-taytay creek to impound water for the dry months
starting in January. The water stored will be used to
support a third crop, theoretically the highest yielding
because of longer days allowing photosytesis if water is
available. The dam will be 10 linear meter long.

| Punta-taytay creek 10Km south
of Bacolod City where the proposed impounding dam
is to be built. The dam shall be built 200 meters
east of the National Highway from the
Punta-taytay Bridge in Bangga Ramos.

| The ricefields during the
rainy months that will benefit from stored water
if the impounding dam is constructed. |
It is also designed to
prevent sea water entering the creek from Guimaras Strait
during high tides to mix with irritation water even
during the wet season should farmers require use of
pumped water.
The project should help some 50 farmers
and irrigate 50 hectares as it catches the run-off waters
from the main irrigation canals of the upper Bago River.
