Vilmo is a soil fertility consultant, being a soil scientist. He manufactures Orgamex which are trace elements compound for crops and fishponds and Biofer, a liquid fertilizer for grain crops, fruit trees, ornamentals and seaweeds. Both these formulations have resulted in farmers getting increased yields. Biofer has proven effective for grain formation in rice and as a dipping solution for cane points.
Vilmo operates a tissue culture laboratory for orchids, banana and other crops.
As a past president of the RC Bacolod East he serves in the Board for RY 1998-99 as Community Service Director. It was during his incumbency as president of the RC Bacolod East, that the Bacolod Citizens for Unity and Peace (Bac-up), a community based security group, was organized with the cooperation of the Philippine National Police commander of the Province of Negros Occidental and the chief of police of Bacolod City.
Vilmo was responsible for the construction of the Bac-up headquarters serving the southern Bacolod City suburb of Tangub.
